Come and join us for a taste of Scotland in London by heading out to the Ceilidh Club at Baden Powell House, south Kensington as we head west for a Saturday night experience. There’s a wonderful band and a great caller who will let you know the steps, so no experience is necessary. It doesn’t matter if you have 2 left feet or three right ones, you will be able to get round the floor. The venue which is in-between South Kensington and Gloucester Road tube stations. There is a great dance floor here and there is the added bonus of really good air conditioning and a sparkly lights system.
What’s the timetable for the Ceilidh Club?
Doors open at 7PM and there is a bar and cloakroom there. The dancing starts at 8PM and goes on to 11PM. There’s a 20 minute break half way through. We always have some tickets for sale on the door. There is usually at least 70 and they go on sale at 7PM on a first come first served basis. If you want to be certain though we advise you book in advance.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfy for dancing. There is no strict dress code for the Ceilidh Club however tartan is always appreciated, plus you look rather lovely in it too.
Who goes to the Ceilidh Club?
All sorts: it’s great for an Office Night Out, a social for your sports club, a reunion for your university mates, or a wedding practice. Lots of people have ceilidhs at their wedding and a bit of a practice can make the reception go with a bang. If you’re by yourself do come along to the club – it’s friendly and laid back (in a high energy kind of way).
