The goal of the Ceilidh Club is to provide you with the best 3 hours of entertainment in London. There is a live band and a caller who will let you know the steps. No experience is necessary – all you have to do is turn up.
Here are some notes to help you make the best of the Ceilidh Club.
Doors open at 7 PM, there is a bar, cafe and cloakroom.
The bar is well priced and serves draft and bottled drinks. All the usual stuff. The cafe sells scrummy food – snacks and light meals. You can also get bottled beer and wine here – useful if there is a big queue for the bar.
There is a water cooler beside the cafe at Cecil Sharp (our main venue). If you bring a water bottle you can fill it up here.
Please dance with consideration of others and notify the staff if you see any spillages. Please do not take drinks onto the dance floor.
We also sell a limited number of tickets on the door for our regular (not Burns Night) ceilidhs. These go on sale at 7 PM on a first come first served basis and often they are limited to 4 tickets per person. It’s cash only on the door.
The dancing starts at 8 PM and goes on to 11 PM. There’s a break in between for about 20 minutes. We often have a charity raffle that gets drawn before the start of the second half.
There is a cloakroom for leaving your stuff. On busy nights we need all the seats, so it is better and safer for your stuff to leave it in the cloakroom and this will avoid any accidental spillage.
We end the night with Auld Lang Syne and you can find the words and meaning here
Your tickets are virtual and all you need to bring along is your Paypal / Stripe receipt.
We love hearing from you, so if you have any thoughts on then please do not hesitate to get in touch. You can email me here
