What is the Ceilidh Club?
The Ceilidh Club is a taste of Scotland in London. Enjoy 3 hours of the best fun – a live band keeps you moving and a caller guides you through the steps – it’s perfect for the absolute beginner or the experienced ceilidh dancer.
Here are some things to remember. First of all, the caller explains each dance before you do it and gives instructions during the dance. Other dancers help you on your way so all you have to do is get stuck in and dance your socks off. It helps if you listen to the caller, furthermore try to dance considerately.
There’s a lovely cafe, a traditional bar and the nicest cloakroom staff you’ll find anywhere. The cafe serves home cooked light meals and the bar is reasonable (for London anyway).
What is the schedule for the Ceilidh Club night?
The doors open at 7 PM and dancing is from 8-11 with a break halfway to catch your breath. The sprung dance floor is great. There is no dress code but we appreciate tartan (and you look good in it too). The hall has an air cooling system, however, please remember to wear something comfy for dancing. The night ends with the Robert Burns Song Auld Lang Syne
How much are tickets for the Ceilidh Club?
There are two ways to get full price tickets – either in advance or on the door.
The nights often sell out so we advise that you buy your tickets in advance.
Tickets cost £17.00 full price and you can buy them from this site. We use Paypal and Stripe to take payments. You do not need to have a Paypal account to buy tickets via Paypal. You can simply use your credit/debit card.
Paypal is, however, keen to sign you up and so you may find that they do not accept your card if you have used it with them a few times. To get around this use a different card or ask someone else to buy your ticket. Alternatively, you can use Stripe.
The tickets are virtual. All you need to bring along is your Paypal / Stripe receipt. You will sometimes get another email with a QR code. You can bring this along too, although we don’t use the QR code.
Concession tickets are only available on the door. They cost £10 and are available to students, unemployed, retired and NHS staff. Please bring proof of status with you. It is cash only on the door and we limit sales to 4 tickets per person. We sell tickets on a first come first served on the door to whoever wants them (full price or concession) and it is cash only on the door.
…and finally, if you are interested in learning some of the moves as well as getting fit then check out our sister company Kelta Fit use the code Health and get £5 off the DVD.
PS Please note you can’t bring any alcohol into the premises.
