Would you like to spend an hour or two in a conversation with someone you’ve never met before? The idea is to avoid superficial chat and have a real and meaningful discussion with people who can expand your thinking. You also get a chance to reflect on your own life and thoughts.
How does it work?
It all takes place in cafe/restaurant/bar where you’ll be able to chat. We give you a list of questions in a menu format and you can choose which ones you want to ask. You spend about 1/2 the time listening and half the time talking. Here’s an example menu:
What makes you feel most alive?
What does an ideal weekend look like?
If you could have a talent that you don’t already have, what would it be?
How much does it cost?
It will be £12-£15 plus anything you spend on food and drink.
Is there a moderator?
Yes, there is a moderator who will help the evening stay on track and you’ll be able to order food / drink throughout.
Where did this idea come from?
This idea sprung from the work of Oxford Academic Theadore Zeldin and his Oxford Muse foundation.
