Formed in 1998, Ceilidh club (pronounced ‘kay-lee club’) brings a little of the heart of bonny Scotland into the city, offering somewhere to dance for those looking to do something a little bit different. Ceilidh is Gaelic for ‘gathering’, and the club put on 3-4 of these gatherings a month. The club is open to everyone – old, young, beginners and more experienced dancers. It offers a cloakroom, reasonably priced bar and often a raffle (well, you’ve got to be in it to win it). Doors open at 7pm, the dancing starts at 8pm, and the whole affair is over by 11pm.
