What is Burns Night London 2025 all about?

Burns Night London is a real highlight of the year. It’s a chance to celebrate the life of Scotland’s National Poet – Robert Burns –  in a way he would have wanted: eating, drinking, dancing and laughter.  Burns wrote some of the world’s most famous songs and poetry, including Auld Lang Syne, and we celebrate his birthday on the 25th of January, 1759. Please remember that there are quite a few events at this time. Moreover, ensure you have bought the ticket for the proper night and venue.

So, how does the Ceilidh Club celebrate Burns Night London?

We’ll be at the wonderful Porchester Hall, a large venue with excellent facilities. Check to ensure you book for the right night and proper venue, as we have events at other venues on the same date.

There’s a huge dance floor, a bar, a cloakroom and a posh red carpet.

Doors open at 7:00, and dancing is from 8:00 to 11:00.   There is a live band, and a caller will lead you through the steps, so no experience is necessary. In any case, don’t worry if you have never danced to a ceilidh before.

What’s the Dress Code For Burns Night?

There is no particular dress code; you’ll fit in wearing the full Highland outfit, flowing ball gown, jeans, and trainers. However, people generally make more of an effort for Burns Night.  We love to see tartan, and you look good in it, too!

What’s the running order for the night?

7:00 Doors open / bar open

7:30ish onwards, food will be served buffet style. Haggis (Vegan/Vegetarian and Meat – you get to choose), Neeps (turnips) and Tatties (potatoes). Contact us if you have coeliac disease or other food allergies at [email protected]

9:30 Address to the Haggis

9:35 Haggis piped off stage. Solo piping session.

11:00 Evening ends with Auld Lang Syne.

How much are the tickets for Burns Night London 2025?

The full-price ticket is £59, and the Concession is £49. Concessions are students, unemployed, retired, and Blue Light card holders.

There will be no door tickets. All tickets must be booked in advance.

Anything else?

There will be a cloakroom—and it’s a big one! We want everyone to have the best evening possible. Please be considerate of others when on the dance floor. The club is very friendly, and people ask each other to dance. Please do not take offence if someone declines your invitation to dance.
