Porchester Hall is where we hold Burns Night London, our biggest night of the year. It’s a grand 1920s hall in Bayswater, Grade II* listed and home to the famous Porchester Spa, with a big dance floor and plenty of room for hundreds of ceilidh dancers.
From about 7:15pm: haggis, neeps and tatties, served buffet style, with a meat or vegetarian/vegan haggis
8pm: ceilidh dancing with a live band and a caller who teaches every dance
9:20pm: the haggis is piped in, followed by the Address to a Haggis and a bagpipe set
9:40pm: more dancing
11pm: Auld Lang Syne
You don’t need any experience or a partner. Most people come in a group, but plenty come on their own. New to ceilidhs? Read our guide: What is a ceilidh?
What to wear
Kilts and tartan are very welcome on Burns Night, but not required. Wear something you can move in and flat shoes you can spin in. Thinking of hiring a kilt? See our guide to kilt hire in London.
