In the heart of Barra, husband and wife Michael and Katie lead a growing team of six at their family distillery. At the heart of their distillery lies an unwavering commitment to the island, the environment, and the wider world. A unique part of their story is how they use public transport for their mail, greatly reducing their carbon footprint.
Barra Atlantic Gin: A Taste of the Island:
Their award-winning Barra Atlantic Gin, crafted with the essence of Barra itself, is distilled with locally hand-harvested Carrageen Seaweed sourced sustainably from the surrounding shores. Infused with 17 specially selected botanicals, it captures the very essence of their stunning home.
A Green Commitment:
Each drop of their Island spirit is distilled, bottled, and labeled right there on the Island. Even more delightful, they’ve given their bottles a face lift with them now made from 78% recycled glass, ensuring it is 100% plastic-free and fully recyclable!
Rum with Elemental Notes:
Did you know that as well as gin, Isle of Barra Distillers have their own Rum! The Island Dark Rum is back with a new bottle design. It is produced in small batches of 100 bottles, providing the opportunity to experience the elemental notes present in the rum – more info here.
